CYA Model Parliament

--==UNDER CONSTRUCTION==--

The Canadian Youth Assembly Model Parliament (CYA MP) is an educational undertaking which helps the youth of Canada take a peek at what federal parliamentarians do when they are in the House of Commons.

The CYA MP is currently run on our online forums by the membership with minimal volunteer oversight. There are many discussions under way and elections are ongoing and conducted through forum polls.

The members of the CYA MP learn the proper ways to address one another and how to create legislation first hand. They learn the views of their peers, to better their social and writing skills, and to express the views and opinions they hold in a group setting.

They draft mock legislation in various forms on various topics and while they understand the division of powers, they are free to discuss issues on every level if they so choose. Participants are encouraged to discuss topics which they feel are relevant to them and their peers.

Feel free to browse this website for all sorts of information. If you have questions, feel free to use the contact link or sign up on the forum and take a look at the model parliament section!
